Gen Z and millennials: Do they share the same fashion tastes?

Image
If increasing social media engagement and more digital role was what fashion brands had to offer the millennials, will the reinvention need to continue for the Gen Z? Born in a truly digital world, in an era when internet was widely prevalent, the Gen Z cohort is who will drive the fashion world in the future.  Brands are often pitching in the dark on fashion trends and tastes for the Gen Z. Do the fashion tastes of Gen Z and millennials crossover at any point? Do brands have to work hard to deliver what the Gen Z aspires for? Gen Z’s are not mini millennials, Period! The one thing most fashion brands have been able to understand is that Gen Z folks have their own vibes, fashion tastes and indulgences. To think of them akin to mini-millennials is what can leave the fashion brand way behind with too much catch-up, once they realize their folly. Gen Z are digital children and their fashion preferences steam more towards online shopping than an in-store experience....

Learning to say a “NO” as an Entrepreneur

Image
Have you ever noticed how many times a week you say “yes” to a person or project, only to end up regretting your decision?  Of those commitments how many were actually in lines with your business priorities?  If you fear rejection, it can come at a high cost: missed milestones, losing clients, physical exhaustion, irritability and stress. Being unable to speak up at work can have long-lasting negative consequences.  When your default setting is to say YES to each and every request that come across your way, you lose focus, which only pushes you further away from your goals. As an entrepreneur, you simply can’t afford that. “For every person who climbs the ladder of success, there are a dozen waiting for the elevator.” For an instance Mr. Harvey, a small-time investor for a startup business failed to click, bouncing along much like his former career -- going nowhere. He either gave in to keep the peace with his customers and employees or lost patience and...

Why women in leadership makes sense

Image
Women make great leaders, and we need more of them ‘ The world is in need of great leaders ’ is a clichéd line.  Surprisingly, many businesses cut out their chances of having a great leader at helm by half, by focusing only on male candidates. Since leadership is all about inspiring and enabling the team, enterprises with women leaders at the helm have been at the forefront of adopting newer perspectives. Why? How does women leaders bring much more to the table than just their management skills? 1. Greater ability to multitask Women have traditionally been better at handling multiple tasks effectively. Managing home and work is part of a regular day for most working women. This ability to multitask can be an asset especially in a leadership role where handling multiple channels can become stressful. From handing strict deadlines to bargains and negotiations, having a woman in a leadership role offers her the opportunity to use her natural traits and skills ...
